چکیده

An evolutionary development of the rheological characteristics blood in capillary flow is one indicator fishes’ adaptation for changing temperature conditions. Our earlier studies showed that large, nucleated erythrocytes Black Sea thornback ray (Raja clavata L.) and scorpionfish (Scorpaena porcus had high ecto-ATPase activity. This activity varied from 3.0 to 3.9 6.0 10.0 nmol Fn/min/µL RBC rays scorpionfish, respectively. The use thermal energy ATP hydrolysis process made by ecto-ATPases fish provided a heating plasma cells’ membrane near-wall layer with an aim improve flow. To confirm proposed assumption, we studied phenomena suspensions fishes continuous recording changes experimental cell suspension addition (1 mg/mL) vitro. A higher “thermal” was established comparison ray, which multiplicity membranes fishes. presence heat-producing evidence possible erythrocytes, both maintain functional state red cells section

Multiple paternity analysis in the thornback ray Raja clavata L.

Skates (Rajidae) are characterized by slow growth rate, low fecundity, and late maturity and are thus considered to be vulnerable to exploitation. Although understanding mating systems and behavior are important for long-term conservation and fisheries management, this aspect of life history is poorly understood in skates. Using 5 highly polymorphic microsatellite loci, we analyzed egg clutches...

Biometry analysis of the black scorpionfish, Scorpaena porcus (Linnaeus, 1758) from the eastern Adriatic Sea

the black scorpionfish, Scorpaena porcus (Linnaeus, 1758), is one of the most common species of Scorpaenidae family in the Mediterranean and the adriatic Sea. apart from the adriatic, it is distributed in the whole Mediterranean, including the Black Sea, and along the eastern atlantic coast, from the British isles to the azores and the Canary islands (HUreaU & LitViNeNko, 1986). S. porcus is an...

Phylogeography and population structure of thornback rays (Raja clavata L., Rajidae).

The phylogeography of thornback rays (Raja clavata) was assessed from European waters, using five nuclear microsatellite loci and mitochondrial cytochome b sequences. Strong regional differentiation was found between the Mediterranean basin, the Azores and the European continental shelf. Allelic and haplotype diversities were high in Portuguese populations, consistent with the existence of a re...

Mechanisms of the Plurality of Scorpaena porcus L. Serum Albumin

The proteins, which bind albuminspecific dye Evans blue, are revealed in the low-molecular protein fraction of the blood serum from Scorpaena porcus L. and identified as serum albumin. They were represented by three bands in 2D-SDS-PAAG. MALDI-TOF-analysis revealed the fundamental similarity of the mass spectrum of the fragments of tryptic cleavage of proteins with molecular weight 73 and 76 kD...

Early life sensory ability-ventilatory responses of thornback ray embryos (Raja clavata) to predator-type electric fields.

Predator avoidance is fundamental for survival and it can be particularly challenging for prey animals if physical movement away from a predatory threat is restricted. Many sharks and rays begin life within an egg capsule that is attached to the sea bed. The vulnerability of this sedentary life stage is exacerbated in skates (Rajidae) as the compulsory ventilatory activity of embryos makes them...
